Originally known as the Chiang-Kai Sheck International Airport when it was first opened in 1979, the main airport serving Taiwan and the city of Taipei is now renowned as the Taoyuan International Airport. It is located directly west of the capital of Taiwan, about 20 minutes by car.

The airport contains two main terminals, which altogether host more than 25 million passengers every year. It currently stands as one of Asias primary air hubs, catering for flights to many different parts of the world. The main airlines serving Taoyuan Airport are China Airlines and EVA Airlines
